Are you a Social Security beneficiary and have not yet received it? If so, you are likely to be the group of people born between the 21st or 31st of any given month who are the last to collect.
But in order to receive your payment in your checking account, you must have all your documentation up to date. You can see this at direct deposit or at any Social Security office.
Those who have applied for a retirement pension after 1997 receive their Social Security benefit on one of the three Wednesdays the administration uses to distribute the money.
For the sake of order, the government established that pension payments will be sorted by date of birth, leaving it at this time:
- Born from 1 to 10: second Wednesday of the month.
- Born from the 11th to the 20th: third Wednesday of the month
- Born from the 21st to the 31st: fourth Wednesday of the month, which this time is next November 22nd.
The maximum payment in 2023 is set at $4,555 due to the 8.5% COLA increase. For next year it will be 3.2%.
To receive the maximum, you must have retired at age 70 or older, something not everyone can do.
